Finally made Canada

Wow, we did not fully comprehend the magnitude of this task.  Even though we have driven this direction at least 5 different times, we were still amazed by the massive distances.  Six days of hard driving to get us to our first Canadian campground.  Day 4: 434 miles;  Day 5: 559 miles; today: not calculated yet.  Some sights along the way: antelope, coyote, mule deer, the Badlands, snow capped mountains, and historic road stops.

We did take a non highway road yesterday through the Lewis and Clark Nat'l Forrest, about 100 miles.  We stopped at one of their campground for the night.  Oh how quiet and beautiful.  The snow melt had the small stream really running.  Sad to say that a lot of their lodge poll pines are dying due to a bug.  Please don't travel with firewood, it does transport bugs and endangers entire regions!

We are tired, but glad to have reached the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.  We are camped in Fort Macleod, a private cg.  This is good as we will begin camping in the Nat'l Parks and there will be little services there.  I was able to do all our laundry.  We will fill the fresh water and empty the tanks.  Getting us a good clean start.
Evan the picture below is for you and Cooper.  This was at the welcome center for Alberta!
Tomorrow we move to Banff Nat'l park for a few days then on to Jasper Nat'l park.  I should get some good pictures there of the amazing mountains!
