We are moving today. Just going south about an hour to Mustang Island SP across from Corpus Christi. We will spend the weekend there and move West. We have reservations for Lake Casa International SP at Laredo. Hope to be back on the web there. We are sitting outside a Shopping Center today for this connection.
A view of the bay at Aransas Wildlife Refuge. A spot to view Whooping Cranes and other wildlife.
A caracara vulture, the Mexican Eagle, that was at our campground's raptor program. Beautiful bird.
Mission Espirito Santo, at Goliad SP.
This is Prisidio La Bahia, a fort in Goliad, the 3rd oldest municipality in TX.
Here is the beautiful painting at the alter of the Presidio's Chapel.

Goose Island SP, Lamar, TX
We arrived here Thursday, drizzly and cool (40's) but a promise of warmer days. That promise was realized. We have been enjoying temps of 60's and 70's here and sun. This is a super location to bike ride, a small resort town is connected to this small state park with little traffic and lots of flat roads to explore, some along the St. Charles Bay. We are just 45mins north of Corpus Christi. Today we plan to go to Aransas Wildlife Refuge to look around. Today is 70o but a slight chance of rain. We plan to stay here to Thurs. then head to Corpus area to Mustang Island SP for the weekend.
Biking in the sun. Have to remember to get that sunblock out. We have some red faces!
This is taken at the fishing pier here at the park. Not much being caught, but enough that Les may get his pole out to try for a fish for supper?
This connection is at a picnic table by the pier. It is a fee WiFi connection here at the SP.

Heading to Texas
This park was the one in MS at the Gulf Coast, notice Les has no coat for the first time. Last night here in LA we had a real Cajun meal in the camper: Boudin(looks like sausage) and Shrimp Etoufee with salad. We eat well in this camper! The night before we had some good Southern BBQ, rack of ribs. YUM. This park was a nice cyprus area, but rain kept us in too much. We have decided to head south along the coast of Texas. This weekend's weather and temps are to be nice. I'm using the internet at MacD's this morning. Be in touch the next time we can.
Joyce and Julie, Good to hear from you. Les's really liked working with you all but not so much to come back to those temps! ;-) We'll picnic in the spring!

Warmth At Last
Yesterday, Tuesday, we finally had some warm temps. 72o in Gautier, MS. Shepherd SP.
So far our trip has followed: Rt 81 South to Bristol, TN; To Rt 40 W, Rt 72 to Huntsville, AL; Rt 65 S to Mobile, AL to Rt 10 W.
In Shepherd SP, there was warmth and sun, but not alot to do. Rain predicted so we headed on West. Stopped at Lake Charles, LA yesterday, with warm temps and some sun. Even with rain predicted, we decided to stay here 2 days to get some jobs done. I'm at a public library to use their internet. It is raining alot today and the temp is 52o. Forecast tomorrow is for part sun, hopefully we will be able to pack up in the dry. We think we may just head south in TX to the Brownsville area. We'll see where the wind blows us.
Joyce, we are reading alot and have played Yahtzee a couple of nights. April, the clothes are holding out so far. Glad I brought warm stuff.
We will update at the next internet connection.
